Private-equity firm acquires leading foundation, crawl space and basement repair and waterproofing company.
Succession Capital Partners (SCP), a specialty private-equity firm focused on the micro-cap alternative asset class in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast, announced today the acquisition of JES Foundation Repair (JES). JES is the Mid-Atlantic’s premier provider of foundation repair, crawl space moisture management, and basement waterproofing solutions with five offices serving Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., North Carolina and Indiana.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Waltz family to continue JES’ 23 years of market leadership and growth,” said Matt Malone, managing partner of Succession Capital Partners. “JES is a leading Mid-Atlantic brand with world-class customer service, and will fit perfectly with SCP’s family of companies.”
JES was founded in 1993 by husband and wife team, Jesse Waltz, PE and Stella Waltz. The Company has grown into a professional team of over 300 foundation, crawl space and basement repair experts, providing more than 40,000 engineered solutions for residential and commercial properties.
“I carefully selected an investment partner to not only continue the top line growth of JES, but a partner that had the operational expertise to further improve our efficiency and enhance our delivery for our customers,” said Jesse Waltz, president and owner of JES Foundation Repair. “Succession Capital Partner’s hands-on commitment, and proven track record of working with families while successfully growing businesses, made them the best firm to entrust with JES’ continued evolution.”
Succession Capital is the only professional buy-out firm headquartered in the Hampton Roads market. The JES acquisition is the firm’s third in the past 36 months, following Shipyard Staffing and Petrochem Recovery Services.
“Unlike private equity firms from other markets that merely fly in for board meetings, SCP’s executives live in and are active in this community, we understand the market and most importantly, the nuances of working with family-owned businesses.” said Malone. “Our unique investment model involves investing our own capital, joining our companies as full-time executives and applying our operational investment model to enhancing business results. We will leverage our network, our experience and our discipline with JES in order to continue and expand their market dominance.”
